Update Time!

Well, not really. So much for saying I'll update more often..haha

I'm really excited for baseball already! Troy Glaus, the new #4 hitter in the Jays order.

I'll update probably after in 06.

I pray God will continue to bless all of you abundantly and may all your words and actions glorify Him.

Stretch Run

Whenever you hear people saying its into the stretch, like in horse racing, track and field, baseball season, it represents its crunch time. A time where every step, every second, every game, every pitch matters. So now as we enter December, its crunch time with finals starting in less than 3 days. I will be the first person to admitt I'm not the hardest working student (refer to my previous posts), I think I will really need to pick myself up from my slacking, procrastinating self and really work hard for once.

So today was supposedly the last day of lecture, but our professor told us last week not to worry about going today and just prepare for the exam on Thursday. I ended up taking advantage of the time off to get some OSAP and whatever other stuff done so I can forget about it. I ended up bussing to TD, got a few forms and then proceeded to take the bus back to campus. Stopping by Starbucks on the way back, it certainly help me "conquer" the weather at least for the time being. So while walking back to residence, I started thinking about my schedule for the next two weeks, how I will be preparing for all the exams I have, studying and completing experiment summaries and all that. Somewhere in the middle, my mind drifted off to thinking about the Christmas season, how everywhere its being advertise about love, love shared by two people. And then I read the Starbucks cup, "it only occurs once a year" (or something along that line), and then it hit me (I don't know how). While December is the typical month where university students will be spending countless hours preparing for their examinations, a month where enormous of money will be spent on various gift items, it is also the month where the true meaning of Christmas has been hidden away by advertisers everywhere. The focus has been shifted from the greatest gift ever given to men (and women), the greatest act of love demonstrated, to love shared by various people, and finding the right gift for the right person. While that is still important, I promised myself, this Christmas, in the middle of all the Christmas festivities, that I will remember I am not only loved by the greatest lover, who has already given me the greatest gift I can ever have, that I will be satisfied with what I'm given, and not constantly ask for more.

Speaking of procrastination, I think I used 20 minutes with that lil blurb? =D Already, back to work on psychology experiment summaries >.<

Passion Toronto...

Passion was an awesome night! It was a great night, not only because of the awesome worship time led by Charlie, Chris and David, not only because we were all able to freely worship and express our love for the Almighty One with all the brothers and sisters from different campus. It was an awesome night because God is here, in Toronto, in Ontario, in Canada, and He wants to use us to serve Him and glorify Him!

What a great reminder from Louie, when he mentioned how God is BIG...kind of similar to what I wrote about Horton and the Whos the previous post. But I don't know how many of you does this, but for me, there have been many times where I just feel that what I did simply can't be forgiven, and you know what, He still loves us. Despite being the HUGE and totally awesome God that He is, He can still call each of us by name, small and tiny indivudal, and loves us to the point that its beyond imagination. It was also a great reminder that God KNOWS, He doesn't need us to tell Him what to do, give Him advice etc etc, it is US that needs to do less talking, and more listening. Our passion should not be for some earthly things, but for His name and His renown.

Finding God in Seussical?!?!

Ok, here is the deal. Been awake for ages working on two papers which I must complete or else I wouldn't be able to go to Passions tomorrow (well, today). Finished in a few mins ago, and seeing it being 6:40, instead of sleeping for 1 hour and waking up for class, I decided to come on here to kill time. Well, not kill, but you get the point.

So I headed out to watch Seussica the Musical with one of my friends from UW last week. For thse who don't know, Seussical the Musical is a musical that is based of the many works of Dr. Seuss. Now the reason I decided to go, was I wanted to see how a semi-pro production compared to the high school productions we did last year. I won't go into how they compared, but when I was thinking back to the actual musical, there was a few things that I noticed. Seeing how there is "finding God in Harry Potter", "finding God in Lord of the Rings", I figured, lets write a "finding God in Seussical". Now I cannot write a full book on it, but I can write a few paragraphs with some of my thoughts on it.

In the musical, "Whoville", is a planet which is as small as a speck dust, and those living in Whoville are known as The Whos. When I think back, I relate us as human beings on earth as those Whos in Whoville (Earth). When Whoville was falling through the air, and was caught by Horton the Elephant, Horton took the role of "God". Now Horton, being the size of an elephant, did not have to do anything with Whoville. He could've simply let them fall to the ground until someone steps on it. But he chose to catch them and take care of them. When Horton lost Whoville, he searched and searched, determined to search until it was found. Now thinking about it, Horton is very much like God sometimes. We are so small compared to God, so small we are even smaller then a speck of dust, but God chooses to love us, care for us, listen to us. When we are lost, He doesn't let us wonder astray, He goes and search for us, until the day we are found and are back with Him.

At the same time, the various animals and other characters in Seussical mocked Horto for taking care of a speck of dust, and wanted to take Whoville away from Horton. No matter what was going on, Horton held on to the Whos. Similarly, many times in life, we are tempted with different things in various situations, God never leaves us. It is Satan who tries to draw us away from God, tempting us to do things that does not glorify God.

Finally, there are those who lives among us, despite living on "Whoville", forgets the reason he/she is there. Those who go astray, does not necessary go off because they choose to, it may be simply due to things happening in life that leads them down the wrong path, or something happened and they need support. It is at that time when brothers and sisters come in, lends a hand, and support the individual.

I don't know if any of this made sense at all, especially if you have never seen the play. Even if you have, I doubt any of this will make sense since it is written slightly before 7am. But either way, I just wanted to get that little bit off my chest.

Now...I promise my sports segment will be short. I got to leave some for this blog even though I do have a primary sports blog on a sports website now. Ask me if you are interested in reading that blog.

Cooler Talk:
- classic case of salary dump, Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell to the Red Sox for essentially nothing, but the salary the Red Sox will be picking up also mean they can also say goodbye to Johnny Damon
- scary incident in Detroit last night. Jiri Fischer collapsed on the bench in the middle of the game. hats off the the NHL for cancelling the game. it made no sense for them to continue, when the minds of the players and the fans was obviously with Fischer.

Thats it for today. I will try to update this more often, but I've been saying that for awhile, so we'll see what happens.

Stress-free or care-free

I just realized how long it has been since one of my posts that is actually something worth posting other then reminders for myself or lists of stuff to do and what not. So I've been doing alot of thinking and writing and reading lately, and also with talking to a few friends, I've realized I'm an extremely weird person. Well, more like weird-case in terms of study and school wise. Let me put it this way, it seems like I'm the type of person who is never completely on track with my work, I always fall behind, I always slack off, but I get my work done. I rarely get stressed out, even before big tests or exams, I hardly ever study hard for any tests or exams, and my mark shows. Depending on who you are (the reader), my mark could be horrendous (hi mom, dad, people who get 90s, you see the pattern), or my mark could be excellent with the work and effort I put in. Now I hear people often stressing out about how they did on a test, always thinking back and talking ALOT with others about a particular question, I have always been the one who will check the textbook for a question and the answer, and leave it, I always avoid talking about a test/exam until I get it back. While I see everyone around me stressing out about a particular exam, I go on about my life. I would study, do my reading, but I won't be stressing out to a point of close to having a breakdown. When I need to do my papers, its either always do it VERY early, or the last couple of days before its due. Sometimes I would do bits and pieces of it over a period of time, but thats very rare. But when it comes down to crunch time, I get my work done. But putting myself in that crunch time work mode is the hard part. When exams and tests comes around, I'm in the same boat. I would study, do my reading, go over course notes and matierals, do my practice exams, redo the parts I have difficulty on, and move on. Others have commented I do not prepare at all, others have said I do not prepare enough, but I know for one thing, never has anyone said I am too well prepared. Which leads to another question, do I really not care about my results, or am I just not "programmed" to be the type that stresses out. I think its a combination of both among other variables. I choose not to stress myself out, knowing it won't help me at all, but I also acknowledge the fact that there have been times when I have "dogged" it. One thing is for sure, I am a rare breed in today's society where everyone seems to be stressing over one thing or another at any given time.

While I do not know the purpose of this blog, nor do I know the reason I wrote this, it helped me put my mind off studying and reading psychology for 10 minutes =D

Now a Wesley "long" blog MUST contain some sports (almost all baseball) talk, so here it goes.
-rumour has it former Jays GM Pat Gillick offered JP Bobby Abreu for Vernon Wells. Interesting offer, but given the fact that Abreu is older, and has more money left on his contract, Wells should be staying put.
-another rumour, it seems the Jays are front runners for the services of AJ Burnett, but with as many as 22 teams competiting for his services. it looks certain his services will not come cheaper than 10 million a season for at least 3-4 seaons
-one of the most interesting off-season for the Jays in awhile, this off-season could possibly "make or break" the Jays future in the next couple of years. with boston having its own troubles with the GM vacancy and possibility of losing a few key players, and the Evil Empire looking as weak as ever, this upcoming 2006 season could be the season the Jays make a push towards the playoffs. that being said, we are still a couple of players away.
-o'dog on his way out? interesting twist, blue jays reacquiring versatile IF John MacDonald. with 6 players and 4 IF spots available, it seems inevitable that one player will be moved. it seems it will be o'dog being moved to lure a power bat and having hill take over 2B. it will not be a popular trade if it happens, as o'dog is one of the more popular player, but "quality must be traded to acquire quality"
-looks like thome will be headed to an AL team. even though the phillies are not actively shopping jim thome, i'm guessing if the right opportunity came along, the DH slot in an AL team would be a perfect fit for him. only if his contract wasn't so large, maybe philly would swallow up parts of it...wells, followed by thome
-delgado on the block. interesting to see trade rumour going on regarding delgado's future. one year after leaving the jays, seems like typical toronto media to bring up the idea of bring him back to hit behind wells and florida carry part of the pay. highly unlikely in my opinion. JP made it very clear he wanted to unload delgado's contract when he arrived, it seems unlikely he would bring him back.
-personal sports pet-peeve, why must all these armchair GMs bring up ridiculous trade and write it as a rumour? you know the ones where you will have their favourite team getting rid of a player they don't want, and in return getting a player every team wants to get in return. i mean if toronto wants to trade eric hinske, you will not have the other 29 teams asking for his price, so what makes those "armchair GMs" thinking hinske plus batista will get you a bobby abreu?

Now that my sports part is as long as my "blog" part, i think it is time for me to wrap it up and go back to psych

Lesson Learned

NEVER try to read, or do anyting that requirse concenration, when the TV is on showing the Leafs game. In my case, any sport for that matter.

Read an article...4 times, and at the end, did not remember anything from it.

Random Thoughts:
Great game though. Belfour made up for his brain cramp play to give Boston the lead by giving a spectacular performance in the late stages of the game. What more can you say about McCabe?
Ottawa finally losingm 6-1-0, when is Nasville gonna lose?
Freeman is ahead in the fantasy pool, great...must climb my way back
Getting killed in ET's pool, lost 0-7 the past week, what happened there?? Second last now

Late night pool

Play pool until 5am, getting breakfast, and then sleeping for an hour and a half sure is a good way to relax after midterms? I don't know, I just know I'll be getting a good night sleep tonight.

For some reason, I've noticed my blogs being shorter and shorter, while things I say on here are getting more random and random. But the good thing is I'm updating! I don't know. Before it was every-so-often, but quite long. Now its very short and sometimes more than once a day. Meh

More food for thought

-does things change that quickly?
-there is only a line seperating something from happening and the same thing not happening

Back to psych

More food for thought

-don't over-think...sometimes thinking too much and looking at a situation from every possible direction will do more harm than good in the long run
-you gotta do what you gotta do
-seize the opportunities in front of you, they may never arise again
-cherish the good memories, they might be all you have in the future

Thats all for now.
Back to psych readings.

Random Thoughts

The last few weeks have been a blur - I have no clue what I have learned, what I have done, nor what I have accomplished
Leafs are on a roll, Lindros and Allison both looks good.
Its better to be speak at the right time, then to speak out on everything
Hopefully Cards can win two more and go on to the WS and take down the White Sox, though I would love to see Clemens with another ring
How about the Pats, .500 team...and Bucs losing their QB after 5-1 start.
Midterms coming up, going to die
Love does not come at first sight, it does not always have typical Hollywood beginning where they fall in love at first sight - it takes the initiative of one individual, and the willingness to give-it-a-try by the other, and compromises of both individual
School sucks, reading sucks
F.R.O.G. = can't be more true

More to come.

Tribute to Tom Cheek

FOr those who don't know, Tom Cheek has been the voice of the Toronto Blue Jays, from the very first pitch in their franchise back in 1977, to last season 2004. He NEVER missed one game, 4306 straight Blue Jays games, he have been in the booth, until the suddden passing of his father, causing him to miss his first ever Blue Jays game. His most famous line "Touch 'em all Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life" in the 1993 World Series will always remain a historical line for Blue Jays fans. Tom has been battling brain cancer for a year and a bit now, and he passed away this past Sunday, Oct 9, 2005. For more information, check out www.tributetotom.com

Utopia

For those who have known me long enough, I was involved with an utopia text simulation game called Utopia for quite a few years. I was addicted to that game like a drug addict to drugs, spending hours simulating strategy before a new round, spending hours at night to find the perfect target to hit for land, and even not sleeping just so I can login each hour to build during the start to get a good start. Why am I bringing this up? Because I regret losing touch with many friends I've made through this experience. Once a leader of a great alliance for a year, there were numerous people who became close to me, even with a few who attempted to backstab me. Now you ask why I put so much effort into an online text simulation game. It was just a text simulation to those who played it, it was a community where friends were made, spouses were found (4 in total from those I know so far, one more coming summer), and relationships extend beyond the game. Many gatherings have taken place at various place around the globe for those who dedicated themselves to the alliance, with many laughters shared between the members. Why am I looking back at these great time now? I guess it is because only recently have I realized how some of these friendships and relationships were more genuine that those we make in person. I'm not implying this statement to the many friends I've made, but more to the relationships I see between others in this world. Tune into any reality shows and you will see fake smile, broken promises, all for glory and fame. During that time, it wasn't about who was leader and who was a new joiner, it was about working together towards achieving greatness. To this day, 3 years or so after I unexpectedly quit the game, I still miss the many friends I've made, some have continue to play the game, but some have moved on, but the times I've shared with those great people, and even the occasional enemy, has made my a mark in my life which won't be forgotten.

So now, after writting for 10 minutes, what was the point of this post? I don't know. What caused me to write it? I don't know. But one thing for sure, it certainly was a blast while it lasted.

Good night!

Frosh Week

Frosh week, a week of wasted morning, relaxing afternoons, and fun evenings. If I didn't throw away my frosh week schedule already, I could probably do a complete recap of it for you. But seeing as it is already thrown away, it seems the best way to go is a summary.
Started with the move-in day, very hectic with the lineup for keys, lineup to go to the unload zone, unloading and moving stuff into the room, and then getting everything unpacked etc etc. A morning that started thinking "jeez, I'm bringing so much stuff" became "jeez, these people moved their whole house here". I saw people carrying a good 8-10 bags of stuff into a room that is the same size as mine! But then again, they don't have the luxury of being so close to home. After the move-in, had "the last lunch" with my parents =D After dropping me off back on campus, they went on their way to meet my uncles down in the States, while I remained here, meeting various floormates and housemates. To be "surprise", my whole floor, with the exception of myself and another person, are all either in computer science, or engineering! Either way, had dinner with a few people (including my don) the first night, and just got to know some of the people I will be spending my next 8 months with.
Monday came along, and more people started moving in (mainly other areas of campus). So I decided to go and lend a hand to my friend who was moving in that day, which killed the afternoon. The night consisted of our floor meeting, and meeting everyone in our house, which followed by the official kickoff of our frosh week. The various activities which were initiated to stimulate interaction had mixed results. There were those who were met so many people that they didn't have enough time to put the other person's name to their face before moving on, and there were those who stood with their hands in their pocket chatting with the same person from their high school the whole night. While meeting quite a number of new people on the same day, the vast majority of those I am still in touch with are those in my house.
The other days of the week consisted of various faculty events, such as meeting the profs, campus tours etc etc. I will admitt I did not attend majority of them, but still attending the highlights. The play "Single & Sexy" is easily one of the best part of this frosh week. While the day were dominated by faculty events, the nights were more relaxed and party events. Variety night was held, a time which you find performances by a hypnotist, a martial arts stunt show, an outdoor movie, along with other activities such as salsa dance and veach volleyball took place. Also, a Monte Carlo Night was hed, where the campus transformed into a mock casino. That night, I headed straight for the Texas Hold'em tables, placing first, and second twice in my 3 table appearances, while breaking even playing blackjack.
As Saturday came, I headed back to Toronto, while those who remained behind had a fun day at the university stadium watching a football game, as well as spending the night at a toga party.
While orientation week consisted of activities targetted to ease the transition from high school to university easier, it also accomplishes its other goals, of having activities that will allow people to meet new friends, as well as introducing them to university life. At the same time, some activities did cause me to walk away to do my own thing due to the nature of the acitivity. All in all, orientation week definitely has its highlights.

thanks pris

made me sound stupid, at least you identified yourself, or else people would think i'm really nuts! here is the update you asked for edie, even though it won't be much of one. nothing really special lately, had a great day with my high school friends on thurs night, pool -> dinner -> bowling, what a day. this coming week should also be a good one, looking forward to it.

been getting asked alot lately about if i'm ready for university, how i'm feeling etc etc. to be honest, i don't feel anything yet. maybe because i've been quiet busy with work and what not, i haven't been nervous or anxious like some people i know, nor have i feared whats coming. i think in a week or two, i will start feeling something. but i'm open-minded, and i think i'm welcoming this next stage of life with open arms, and just seeing what God has instored for me, which is why i haven't really felt much emotions yet. i guess as it gets closer to the move-in date, i will start feeling something, but right now, i will just wait patiently for that day to arrive.

now sports time! i see all the weird expressions on all your faces, i doubt many of you will even get past this paragraph! i've been blogging quite often on sportspages.com, which is why i haven't had much here. still hoping the jays can make a run for the post season. they are not that far out from a playoff spot. hopefully they can put a strong late august, combining with the return of halladay and lilly, the jays can make a strong push for the east division. i really feel if the jays are to make the playoffs, they will be aiming for the east, and not the wildcard. i feel like whoever loses the west (anaheim or oakland) will be the wildcard team. with 6 games left against the bronx bombers, and 7 games against the reigning world champion, the best shot for blue jays is win those series, and they will be mere games away from the division title. the jays have played well against their division rivals in recent years, and with how strong the jays have played against top teams, i hope they will be playing meaningful ball in september. i've been very impressed with how the team has stayed well above the .500 mark with injuries to lilly and halladay. halladay is almost a sure thing every 5 days, so with his return, hopefully they can kickstart a good streak and make a strong push to play well into october.

for those who actually read down to here, congratulations. in the mean time, going to be enjoying a bit of rogers cup tomorrow. as cabbie would say "we gone".

Long time

wow, it has been half a month since i blogged? well..more...i guess i've been getting really lazy...oh wellz

so whats new, nothing in particular, my schedule for uni is interesting to say the least. friday off...which is totally awesome. and then mon/wed have 1 hr and 20 mins of class....but tues/thurs will be a killer. both 830am start....tuesday ends at 520 with i think around 3 hrs in total between my classes, and thursday is worst, 830 start, n finish at 950pm...i guess thats what you get when you have friday off, and only 1 class on mon/wed

been relaxing so far this summer. went out a few times, went to work, stayed home, nothing really spectacular. hoping to maybe go to rogers cup in early august.

ccsa has been alot of fun so far. even though our record is not what i would call stellar, it has been a fun season thus far. still a learning process for some of the team as its their first time, i must say our team has been playing some solid ball. some rookie mistakes, or even veteran mistakes, but the team is really coming together. hoping it will finish strong as we're entering the second part of the schedule

ok, thats it for tonight. leave more later...hopefully sooner rather than later...

How awesome is this? I got reservations for Canon AND North 44 for dinner (one with parents, one with friends) and also got Jump Cafe for lunch. Gonna spend quite alot money, but I'm sure its worth it. Would've tried Auberge Du Pommier if I could understand their menu.

Been watching "stump the schwab", that guy is nuts! His sports trivia is just...crazy! He probably forgets more than we know.

Its been a pleasure

Can't believe it, 4 years of high school will soon be wrapping up. Seems like it wasn't that long ago when I walked through the cafe doors for the first time, getting a locker, and then getting lost in the school searching for the way out. Still remember all the struggles with finding classrooms on the first day of school, and of course, the first time being able to go to Woodside for lunch every day. Many things have changed in 4 years. Not only do we feel the school is very small, we feel the classrooms are getting boring, not only are we able to walk around the school with our eyes closed, we dread the lunches that we have to survive on Woodside food. No longer are we intimidated or scared of coming to school, but we don't want to leave the school anymore, as we will also be leaving all the friends and memories that we all cherish. We look forward to seeing our friends at the lockers and the hall each day, rather than scared of walking into a classroom full of new faces. High school is a stage in life, in which everyone must go through. You can make it as enjoyable as you want to, or you can make it a horrible stretch of time in your life. While many of the friends that were made will never cross paths again in this journey called life again, they will be remembered for the fun times, memories and laughter that were shared. In the mean time, friends that have been friends at this stage of their life, that may cross paths again in the future, will always have this period of time in their life in which they will be able to refer to, reminising all the memories from this period of time. While those entering these 4 years as great friends, and leaving as great friends, will always be able to remember how much closer they became as a result of these 4 years.

While these few days maybe "good bye" to many, this will also be "see you later" to many. Regardless of which category anyone is under, these few words will be the same to everyone. "Best of luck, and never stop believe in yourself, your dreams, and your abilities"

This stage is not the end, but rather a beginning into the next stage in our lives, where everyone will go seperate ways, but chasing the same goal. To be the best they can be.

Been Awhile

Has been a week since I blogged, somehow it only felt like yesterday that I was on here. Anyways, too much has happened this week, too much to write on here, so I'm not even going to try to summarize it. I guess the only good things that happened this week has been the past 2 nights. Really enjoyed being able to sit inside SkyDome (NOT Rogers Centre) just enjoying the ball game between my 2 fav teams. Awesome game game on Monday, enjoyed seeing the best player in the NL (Pujols), against the top pitcher in the AL (Halladay). Monday: So got there early just so I can get in when gates open. But rain started pouring to hid inside the Jays shop and started watching CNN's coverage of the Jackson trial. Eventually went back to lineup outside the gates and waited for a good 10 mins before the gates opened. Dashed in, and got in at the corner of the Cards dugout. I can tell you it was a good and bad thing. Good because it was a very good spot to get autographs. Ended up getting Jason Maquis and Larry Walker on Monday. Bad thing was that while Larry Walker was signing, have like 20 people just shoving/pushing forward all at once, so now I have a bruised line across my ribs. Today: Got there early again at 5ish, and waited until 5:30 again when the gates opened, and went down the first baseline instead this time. Met a couple of guys while I was waiting for autographs, one came from St.Louis but was born in T.O. Got Eckstein, Edmonds and La Russa today. Pretty good overall. Wish I was able to get Walker again, or even Pujols, but guess Pujols is still pissed after going 0 for 4 yesterday against the Doc.

Fun time is over, reality check time...*sigh*

Wonder

I'm starting to wonder why I even care and try anymore. Not like anything I do is ever appreciated...

No sports tonight...shows the type of mood I'm in...

Must Resist

This is bad. Was online looking for more good deals on Friday after picking up a set of Logitech x-230 for $20 (reg. $80), and came across a few things that I realized I "needed", but all of them are more "wanted". Saw this nice Swiss Gear Leather Laptop case, reg $130 down to $80, might pick one up over summer for university if the price goes down any lower. Also saw a Samsonite Leather Laptop case, pretty close to the Swiss Gear one, and its going for $80 down from $140, was tempted to get it then but had to resist. Then realized I probably need a wireless router soon, and popped over to bestbuy.ca and found an ok deal on both d-link and linksys wireless-G router. Waiting for price drop in summer again. Also figured I should get an USB-Hub, since I'm unplugging and plugging in all the time, probably not good for the computer, so theres another thing I "need". List goes on, must resist temptation to spend.

Sports Cooler Talk:
How about the As offence coming alive against the Jays. Road trip haven't been too good to the Jays yet, losing 4 of 6. Hopefully they'll do better against the Cubbies the next 3 games...Game 6 was dominated by the defending champs. Without Wade, it seems the Heats is just not as good of a team. I'm not saying Wade is a legitimate superstar yet; he is on his way there, but playing with Shaq helps alot. Will be interesting to see how the Heats respond tomorrow night at home with Wade still listed under game-time-decision...With Michael Bishop's return to the boatman, Argos got almost their entire Grey-Cup winning team back from last year. Hoping for another strong year from them, Damon Allen will need to play like he's young again, but this should be an exciting year coming off a championship year...NHL and NHLPA meeting alot again, aren't they sick of each other yet? Seems like they're still at the stage for determining the propery way to crunch the numbers. Long way to go until a deal can be struck, but at this pace, hopefully we'll see Sidney Crosby in an NHL uniform in the not-too-distant future...Looking forward to June 13-15, when the big red birds (St. Louis Cardinals) will be in town, going to be heading down for a couple of games, should be good ones.

Nothing-ness

Nothing special since last post. Finally started getting my MIRs in, after waiting for it for like 4 months. Got responses from all my universities. Sadly was rejected in my first choice, claiming my English mark didn't meet their requirements o.O Even though my mark is right at what they said the English mark has to be. I guess I was cutting it close, but its English! How can I possible get any higher?! Oh wellz, now just deciding if I want to go to their alternative consideration, or somewhere else. Got a week or so to decide.

Sports Thoughts:
It won't be my blog without going into some sports cooler talk. Nice to see Suns rebounding to win game 4. They played alot better than game 1-3, but only winning by such a small margin. Looking at San Antonio winning in 5 or 6 (hopefully 6 just to make it a bit more interesting). Detroit and Miami going down to best of 3. Tight series, Wade looks to be the key-player in this series. Highly likely to go to 7 in my opinion, hoping Detroit will prevail...

We gone...(Cabbie is the best)

I ran this town

Lining up with Simon Whitfield at the start of the 10K run was pretty cool. The coolness lasted like 1 minute when I got dusted, but still, starting a run with an olympic gold medalist was cool enough...So finished in around 50 minutes or so, don't remember exact time. Not bad considering I was aiming for under an hour since I haven't trained at all. The rain before/during the run didn't help either, but at least it wasn't pouring during the run. If I do run in something like this again, I think I'm going to try and train for it.

Formal 05:
Evening went pretty much as expected, except Kelvin getting his first kissES (by man and woman) in the same night. Limo ride was cramped, but it was limo regardless. Arrived at Liberty Grand, looks the same as it looked last time I was there. Massive picture taking leading into dinner. Crappy food as expected, mass cooking, whatever, didn't expect anything good anyway. More pictures, slideshow, dance, etc etc. Went pretty much the way things are expected to go. Awesome to see everyone all dressed up and stuff. Now formal is over, kind of a signal of the beginning of preparation for exams, and then off to university. 4 years of HS over, flew by like it was yesterday when we all first walked through the halls of Campbell. Getting lost going to all our classes. Now we will all go our seperate ways, many will not meet again, while some will crossed paths. Never-the-less, fun times will always be remembered.

Sports Thoughts:
London Knights, Memorial Cup champion, amazing how they shut down the most powerful offence in the form of the Rimouski Oceanics in the finals...What a season by both teams, watching the mem.cup makes me not even miss the NHL...Doc Halladay, another near flawless performance, looks like he's back in his CY Young form of '03...My wildest dream could not have dreamt of having the Suns high-power offence completely shut down by the Spurs, great defensive play by Tony Parker in shutting down the QB of the Suns offence. Spurs have too many weapons, with no drop off when their second string players come in, while the Suns rely too heavily on Kid Canada, hopefully Sun can win the next one or two to at least avoid the sweep. Spurs will be hard to in the finals against either Miami or Detroit

Long Weekend

Had an extra long weekend, as I decided to go to full day Friday to the Unite in Worship conference. Awesome workshops by both Terry Neudorf and Phil Dooley. Ended the night off with an awesome worship plus powerful message by Phil. Had a chance to talk to Phil Dooley after one of his workshops, and got to share a few things with him. Great guy with a heart for God, and a passion for empowering students and youths to do ministry. Also had a chat with Joel Houston in the congress centre lobby after his sound check. Got him to share a bit how God led him to what he's doing right now, and how it was being a pastor's kid especially with a big church like Hillsong.

Random Thoughts:
Was talking to a friend over the weekend, and an interesting point was brought up. You know how sometimes you have people that cares for you, and you know they genuinely cares for you, and that’s great, kudos for finding such a friend, the world needs more of them. But also there are times when you just know that the person is only pretending to care for you. Please take off your mask, save your time and the person's time, and get on with life. While there are those two types, you also get this one where one person will only show their thoughtfulness in an attempt to win someone's heart. And on the flip side of the coin, you always have people who are short-sighted chasing other things in life (example: a hot guy/girl) to neglect their friends who have been there through the ups and downs. Even pretending to go to sleep or go to work so they can concentrate on the other person. Quoting my friend "People change, circumstances change, attitudes change."

Sports Thoughts:
Going to be short. Great game between Rimouski and London, best hockey game I've watched all year, great to see London bounce back after struggling first period, that is your finals for the memorial cup......Still upset over Glazer taking over Man Utd., I honestly do not know how the UK's Securities Exchange Commission can allow several hundred million of debt be written onto a corporation books, end of the Red Devil's era is fast approaching......Hoping Joe Johnson will be back soon......Wade struggled in game one, will see how he plays in game 2

Crappy Day

The day started off with a stupid power outage, which caused my DSL modem to die, so now I'm without internet on my PC for 3-5 days until Sympatico sends me a new modem. I guess thats the good part, the modem I am using now is like 4 years old. So I'll have use the wireless on my laptop to "borrow" signals for the next few days unless someone can lend me a DSL or dialup modem. And then I just got a call from HP, saying how my warranty does not cover the cracked screen, so now I have to pay $250 to get it fixed and shipped back and all that stuff. If I ever found out who threw their bag on top on my bag, they'll hear it from me. Let see if it can get any worse.

Glazer Taking Over Man Utd.

This is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have seen in the sporting world in terms of transfer of ownership. This dude, Malcolm Glazer, who already owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL, comes and makes several takeover bids for Man Utd., given that I am a huge Man Utd. fan, so I might be a little bias, but I'm sure many individuals out there will also agree with what I'm saying. Now the takeover bid from Malcolm Glazer is ridiculous. Now the actual bid is one problem by itself. If the takeover bid came from purely his own money, then that is fine, but Glazer has to borrow half a billion pounds of sterling to complete his bid. Not only does he have to borrow half a billion to complete his bid, he is charging half of that borrowed money, which translates into almost half a billion Canadian to the club! Now for those who are lost in all this, that means the half billion Canadian that is charged to the club must be paid off by the club. So Man Utd. will be buying itself out of the creditor - for Glazer to become debtless. Now some may argue that Glazer will be like the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, whom after buying the club, dumped truckloads of cash into the team, which of course, resulted in their first EPL title in 50 years. However, here is the problem, Glazer is NOT Abramovich. For Glazer, this is all about taking over the richest team in the world in all of sports. This is about personal gain, for his own financial situation. Not only will Glazer not put money into the team, heck, there is a possibility he will sell off Old Trafford Stadium, or increase ticket prices just to increase revenue. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that Man Utd. will now be owned by someone who does not understand a single thing about the team he's buying, nor the sport it plays, nor the culture/people surrounding the sport. All he is buying it for is for the fame, and for the money. This has the prospect of becoming Leeds United the Second. Beginning with falling out of the picture in European soccer, and then maybe even falling out of the EPL. As a supporter for Man Utd. over the year, how they've produced good young players for their team, this takeover by Glazer will certainly put a dark cloud over the bright sunny sky that used to be over the Old Trafford Stadium. The future of the most popular and richest sport team in the world looks to be jeopardy.

Sat May 14th

Wow, Seussical is over...2 weeks of 12 hours school days are gone. Honestly, even though this was really tiring, really had a blast doing it, and learned so much (including smoking an amp). After the blog on Thursday, yesterday's and today's show got loads better. Yesterday, through thick and thin, was nearly flawless. Today's a couple of screw ups here and there, but nothing major, so I'm pretty satisfied. Hats off the everyone (cast, crew, backstage etc etc).

I felt so sick when I woke up this morning, I think it was because I've been getting only 3-4 hrs of sleep a night for the past week or two. And plus I only hate like a small lunch all day yesterday. Felt so bad that I had to call in sick at work, a Saturday with only 5 people is not good, but I probably would've thrown up at work instead of my house if I did go in (it was all liquid that came out). So slept a bit longer, and still didn't eat until I just got home just now. So I guess when I woke up again, felt better so I ended up going to the CCSA Umpiring Exam as I need to get carded. I wasn't going to go earlier as I felt sick, but since I felt better, decided to go and get myself carded hopefully. So after that just went back to school and did Seussical. Awesome to see Pris came by to watch the show, also had a couple of surprises when other friends came to watch as well. Overall, day started out bad, but I guess it did go better.

Onwards!

Sports Random Thoughts:
Whats with the Jays this year? Either they're hot, or they're cold. I guess as long as they stay around .500, not much complaining there....That was a close game between Russia and Canada, 4-3 for Canada even though they were up 4-3. Czech is up next and really want to see Canada win, we'll see what happens...Missed the Rock's championship game, watched some of the highlights, it looked like an amazing game, what an awesome year for them despite many people counting them out after their trades in the offseason, looking forward to next year already...Canada going to be hosting the IIHF World Jr Hockey Championship every 3 years, I guess thats going to be good news for those people like me who already made watching the World Jrs our annual Christmas tradition, would love to see one being played in the T-Dot one day...

Thats it for today, signing off....

First Show

First show today, I guess it didn't go as well as I was hoping it would go. Had more problems then I expected. Seems like a couple of mics are having problems, don't know if its because of frequency or something. Hopefully it'll better tomorrow. Also got some feedback from a scene, not too happy at myself about it, gotta remember to check the levels tomorrow. Other than that, general complain was the voices were not loud enough towards the middle of the crowd. Hopefully that will be better tomorrow also.

I still stand by my initial stance, that the sound board should always be in the room, and not up in a booth. Being in the actual room allows the controller to hear first-hand of how it sounds like, much better than going through windows and/or monitors which changes alot of things.

The crew kinda got annoyed at the orders people were giving in the middle of the show when nothing could be done about it during the show, sometimes people just need to chill and just let us do our job, its not like we will turn a blind eye to any problem we see. Onwards!

Random Sports Thoughts:
Whats up with this Glazer dude trying to take over Man Utd. man. Honestly, all he's doing is just trying gain control on Man Utd. and turn it into a money making machine. He doesn't care about soccer, he doesn't care about the fans, all he cares about is making money. I would hate to see Man Utd. being owned by him. Raising ticket prices will be one possibility already, or even selling off Old Trafford. I really hope that his bid to takeover is unsuccessful, or else it'll be a dark dark era ahead for the Red Devils. Its not like he'll be like the Chelsea owner when he pours money into the team. Glazer will just draw and suck all the cash from the team, and then sell it off. Sad sad day......In other news, looks like this year's Memorial Cup will be a good one. London Knights being the host, now with Rimouski Oceanic + Sydney Crosby coming, it will certainly be an interesting tournament....

Thats it for tonight...Signing off...

Annoyance

Ok, I'm sure I'm not the first person to write this, nor will I be the last, but I'm sure like many before me, and many after me, it is something that will never stop. I mean, don't you hate it when you do something/did something that annoys people, but its something that you do without trying to cause annoyance, and then the person doesn't tell you that they hate it, but instead go tell others. I mean, if its something that bothers you, then be a (wo)man just tell them straight up you hate it, why go through the trouble of telling someone else when it really won't do any good if the message is not passed on. Speaking of passing message on, its even worse when you ask someone to tell someone else your message. I'm sure you've played broken telephone, so save the trouble and running the risk of having misunderstanding, and tell the person yourself.
So thats my two cents for today, onward!

Sports random thoughts:
Nice to see Nash get the MVP, really think the voters might it closer than it really should be. No matter how dominant Shaq is, bringing the Suns to a 33 win turn-around is amazing, hats off the the Canadian kid. Coming off a sweet at the hands of the White Sox, hopefully the Blue Jays can do slightly better and take the series against the Royals. Scary incident involving Zaun on Sunday, hopefully he'll be fine and be able to spring into action, as I doubt that Jays will be able to get productions from Huckaby and Dominique (offensive and defensive) that matches what Zaun has been doing this season so far.

Another Long Week

One more day to go before the weekend, yay! So this week, to sum it up in 3 words, "it was long". Been working on Seussical the Musical stuff all week. For those wondering (especially edit =รพ), it is a musical based on the works of Dr.Seuss. So like Cat in the Hat, the Whos, Horton, JoJo etc etc. Show is Thursday (12th), Friday (13th), and Saturday (14th) all at 7:30pm, let me know if you're interested in coming. Will be at school from like 7-9 tmr, so like 14 hrs, and then next week will be like the same thing again for the whole week. Oh man, since 2 years ago with West Side Story, don't think I've been at school for that much of the day.

Apprentice is starting to turn me off, this season is very weak (as in the competitors). It started out pretty good with the first few episodes, but it has been down hill ever since. It seems like they are doing it for the tv rating then actually looking for Trump's Apprentice like it is supposed to be, hope next season will be better. Amazing Race is still going strong, and coming off an awesome episode. Sad to see the old couple being eliminated, they definitely are the oldest team to have lasted until the final four in any seasons. Can't wait until the last couple of legs, with the contrasting styles between the teams. I still don't like the idea of having teams which are "famous" on this show, even though it may bring better ratings. Too bad there won't be a new season for awhile. I definitely think ever since they brought it back after season 4 (I think), it has been getting better and better, but season 2 is still my favourite.

Random Sports Thought:
How often do I go 2 full paragraphs without mentioning sports? Probably never. NBA playoffs, nice to see Jetsgo (aka Vince Carter) being grounded by the Heatwave. If Nets can keep the core of the team together (Kidd, Jefferson, Jetsgo), they might be a contender next year, still think they need a stronger supporting cast to be a legit contender. Would love to see Pacers move on to the championship game, and would be amazing to see Reggie end his career winning the title, but I highly doubt that will happen. Rick Carlisle have definitely put himself a step closer to being considered one of the all-time great coaches this year, bringing the Pacers to a sixth place finished even through all the things that Pacers went through this year with Jackson, Artest and O'Neil. Hoping to see Nash get the MVP, bringing the Suns from 50 loss season last year to now #1 in the West. Jays are playing well, same with the Os, but still not counting the Red Sox and Yankees out. Speaking of Yankees, how about losing 3 in a row to the D'Rays?

CCBA:
Moving up fast in the ranking, but I really don't think I can stay there. Just a rebuilding year this year, hopefully can have a decent finish and get a strong keeper list to carry towards next year. Quick pick-up of Bedard from Just, he's been hot as of late, and with the way the Os are hitting, Bedard should get solid numbers this season. Incredible to see Steve running away with his team, but I think like many GMs in the league, we're waiting for the fall on the Asian empire.

Thats it for today, been a long blog, you're amazing if you read down to here. "a person's a person no matter how small" Thank you Michael for putting that song in my head.

What a week

Man...this past week seems like it lasted for a whole month. Finally the first time in this semester, I can say I was in class for every class. Well....almost. But thats probably as close as I'll get until Seussical the Musical is over in two weeks. Oh man, speaking of that musical, there is so much that needs to be done, and like theres a shorten performance this coming Friday, and we haven't even had a full-tech rehersal, oh boi, I can feel late nights coming.

Oh..for people that got worried about me these couple of weeks (you know who you are [assuming you read this]) Just want to say thanks, and sorry for making you worry.

Random Baseball Thoughts:
Morneau got a HR and a Triple today, he's been playing great since coming off the DL, maybe getting beaned with the ball was a good thing..haha...Jays are playing well so far this year, as I said in my pre-season predictions, they got good talents, but not good enough yet to challenge for a playoff spot. April is indeed a weird month, seeing the Yankees at 10-14, with the Orioles leading the East, next thing you know the D-Rays will lead the division with Boston not making the playoffs. Its highly unlikely Orioles will keep playing the way they are playing in April for the rest of the season. A few of their players are playing above their expectations (Mr. Brian Roberts being one), and I don't foresee them keeping their current pace for the next 5 months. A'rod has been tearing it up the past week, 5 HRs I think? Wow, he has certainly stepped up when the Yanks needs him to. Wonder if Cashman's job is in jeopardy judging by the way the Bronx Bombers are performing this year.

Don't like the rain

I hate it the weather when it rains. Not much of a wet weather person myself, like it when its all sunny, can do so much more than stuck at home on a rainy day. Hit the range a couple of times this week, just shaking off the rust and what not. Had trouble clearing 150 with the driver, and struggling to get the loft with the irons, think I'm back to where I was 2 years ago, so sad. Hopefully I can get more practice soon and maybe hit the course when summer rolls around.

It felt like the longest week last week. I think it was the first week since March break when I was actually in school for all 5 days of school. Sad I know. Long week, but was quite interesting, especially having Global National here filming for their segment, and then the footage wasn't even 2 minutes in length.

Another long week coming up, badminton season wrapping up, so each week is going to feel just that much longer. Good thing Seussical is coming up, and then have summer to look forward to. Still waiting for 'loo's acceptances, just gotta keep waiting patiently.

Disappointing day

*sigh* So yeah, came fifth today, when the top 4 qualify for OFSAA. I'm disappointed, knowing that I let so many ppl down, my partner, friends and what not. I mean its not like I couldn't beat the team that we lost to. I don't know...its just seems like I was lost on the court. Yeah, I was making shots, but I wasn't making the right shots and what not...Oh wellz. At least now I won't miss 2 more full days of school (not like I care anyways). So yeah, to everyone that earned the top 4 in T.O. Congrats, and all the best at OFSAA. You guys will have a blast, and yeah, enjoy it, once of a lifetime opportunity.

Whats the big deal?

So the Red Sox celebrated their World Series win yesterday, and two of the former Red Sox, Derek Lowe and Dave Roberts returned to Fenway Park to join in with the celebration as their team had the day off. So Lowe and Roberts were given the same jersey as they would've worn last year when they received their ring, and out of no where, sports talk show everywhere were putting them down for wearing their old team's jersey. So whats the big deal? They were on the team last year, and they're only wearing it for the celebration. Last year is last year, this year is this year. Who cares if they wear last year's jersey for a celebration. They waited their whole lives for this moment, and we have people jumping on their back saying how they're not loyal to their team. Its only a 30 minute ceremony, let these guys enjoy it, it might be their only one in their career (seeing how one is with the Pirates and the other with the Padres). The Red Sox nations waited 86 years for this moment, and we have these people trying to spoil their party. Amazing what some people would do just to start a conversation. Another note, hats off to the Bronx Bombers for their gentlemen like behaviour yesterday during the Red Sox celebration. Unlike the Pistons and the Bulls several years back, the Yanks stood in their dugout, and applauded the Sox players when they were receiving their ring. I strongly believe that this rivalry is mostly created by the media to draw more audience. There will be some guys who hate each other from the two teams, but in the end, they're all baseball players, and in my opinion, they have mutual respect for each other.

Citys tomorrow, hope I do well...

Baseball Preview Part III

Its so true when people say in time of crisis and in time of need, you see who your friends are and who your "friends" are. Some people might seem like they're there for you, but in reality they are there for you if they have nothing else to do. Once something more important comes up, you're the last thing in their mind.

Anyways, baseball season. Outside American League East. It'll be a two team race in West, my prediction having the Angels up top but Texas not far behind and also in running for wildcard spot. Texas's downfall will be primarily because of their starting rotation. The Angels have a chance to make to the ALCS if their starters have a good season, or else look for a Boston New York again. Minnesota should win the central, as they kept most of their team together except for Koskie going to the blue birds. Morneau will finally get a full season to show his stuff, look for him to become a 30HR man. Should be interesting to see how Santana plays after his contract year.

NL to come later.

Baseball Preview Part II

So the funniest thing happened today. I went down to Starbucks to buy a coffee during my spare, and I bump into Jamie Campbell. If you don't know who he is, he's the guy that will be doing the commentary for Blue Jays game this year for Sportsnet. So we got to chat about baseball season and what we think will happen, so it was fun.

The Jays game today proved that their bullpen is not strong enough. It is evident by having them switch closers 3-4 times last season, and having to put Batista as the closer. He has done a good job so far this season, 2/2, so we'll see what happens. And KAT, John Mcdonald is awesome, he might not be the best SS in the league, but he's an amazing fielder, and he'll help Russ Adams alot in his development.

AL East, the two biggest spenders in the league. The Blue Jays (or the third place team) could easily finish above the .500 mark, and still be around 10 games away from the divison winner. By far this is the toughest division in baseball. Imagine having to face RJ followed by Mussina. Sure, it was not as scary as last year with Pedro and Schilling, but the bats will scare the best pitchers in the league. From top the bottom, the Yankees batters are almost flawless, anyone of them can change the outcome of the ballcome at anytime with one swing of the bat. If they can keep their players healthy (especially their rotation), look for them to be near the 100 win mark again.

How rare is it to see Rivera blow two saves opportunities in a row. Or how about blowing 4 straight against the Sox. Thats just scary. The Boston lineup can be as scary as the Yanks. With the return of Trot Nixon, the Red Sox have a mixed of speed and power in their lineup. Through the addition of Matt Clement and David Wells, they have a solid rotation up front. Even though Wells is pass his prime, and Clement has yet to show how good he can be, there will be questions if they can get the job done with the departure of Pedro. Look for the Red Sox to be competitive and win the wildcard, but one of the teams in the West will be close.

Orioles added the troublesome Sosa to their lineup this year, someone the Cubs couldn't wait to get rid of. Scoring runs won't be a problem for the Os this year, but holding the opposition will be. The Orioles are very weak in the rotation and their bullpen. They will lose many high scoring games because they cannot hold the opposing team. Look for them to finish fourth this year with around 70-75 wins.

The D-Rays. Back down to the basement of AL East again. They have a bunch of young guys this season, but they have too many holes in their pitching staff and their lineup. They have a core group of guys that will be good, Crawford, Huff, Cantu to name a few. But their inexperience and weak supporting cast will prove to be their downfall this season.

So East will be back to normal, with Yanks, Sox, Jays, Os, D-Rays in that order at the end of the season.

Rest of AL coming up, hopefully they'll be shorter.

Baseball Preview

So April rolls around, and we get two days of blizzard :S. Anyhow, the baseball season has finally began, which means its time for another preview post, and we'll see how many predictions ends up being correct when October comes around.

Lets start off with the home team, the "new look" Toronto Blue Jays. I'm pretty sure most of the personnel in the Jays organization couldn't wait for 2005 to come. Losing the reigning Cy Young award winner, and losing two other all-stars to injury in the same time span sure wasn't what the Jays needed last season. With Carlos Delgado now in the senior circuit in the forms of the Marlins, the Jays will need their newcomers and veterans alike to step up to make up for Carlos' departure. V.Wells has vowed to shoot for a 30-30 season, which will certainly be a welcoming sight for the Jays fans, as well as Doc Halladay's return to full health. With Canadian Corey Koskie and Shea Hillenbrand joining the blue birds, the Jays will be hoping for them to make up for the 30+ HRs, 100+ RBIs that Delgado brought with him to the Marlins. The Jays will also be hoping for Hinske to step up his game, back to his form that brought him the ROTY award. With new manager John Gibbons, look for the Jays to be alot more active and aggressive on the basepath, rather than sitting back and waiting for the long ball to generate runs. Finally, the Jays farm system is bearing fruit, Russ Adams, Alexis Rios are already making an impact for the Jays as regular starters. Also look for David Bush to be in the rotation, with the hard-throwing Brandon League possibly fitting into the rotation later on in the season. This year is going to be an interesting and exciting years for the Jays, as J.P.'s plan to build and model the money franchise looks as it is starting to come together.

Despite all the optimism with the new Jays, there will be stretches in the season where they will go through some "learning pain". Through those times, it is vital for team leaders (V. Wells, Doc Halladay) to step up and bring these rookies through the tougher times. Look for the Jays to rebound from the basement of the American League East, finishing third in front of the Os, but behind the two big spenders (Yanks and Bo. Sox). They should finish around the .500 mark, I'm predicting a 84-78 season.

More on the rest of the American League and National League to come.

td

no, not td canada trust, but more like tc down syndrome...
if i come across as i'm trying to bash whoever has it or what not, i'm not...i'm merely trying to discuss it...
so some of you may ask what is tc down syndrome. lets start of with what tc is first. tc is teens conference, held annually during march break for 2 days for teens. "The goal of Teens Conference is to help youths understand Jesus and His message in an open and honest environment. TC also inspires and equips Christian youths to live a radical and active life of ministry with Jesus Christ." (direct copy from AFC)
so tc down syndrome...i'm sure many have experienced it, i have also experienced it myself. the feeling of loneliness is just one of the symptom. you feel as though the thing that means most to you has just been snatched away. you feel like you got nothing to do now, and the past 6 months flew by and you wish it could've lasted a lifetime...it happens...
why is happens, i believe that it is because tc is a high (there is no denying that fact). despite tc being a high, there are just SOOO many good things about this ministry, that i will continue to support even after high school. but back to my point, with tc being a high, regardless if you serve or not, your emotions are running high, adrenaline is pumping and you're pumped. and then wednesday hits, no more waking up at 6 to get a coffee and go sound check or setup, no more meeting up with your team (particular worship and media) to practice/chill/fellowship...so you feel lost...you feel you lost something very close to your heart. it is because you have lost something very close to you, and something that means alot to you. you also are no longer stressing over tc, because its over. so the days after, you crash. you go from very high on tuesday night, down to near rock bottom. the team you have been practicing with for 6 months, you are no longer a team, everyone will go their seperate ways. (those who get to do it again together, count your blessings guys.) you'll start end up missing everybody. during the time when you normally have practice, you will feel lost, not sure why you're even at home. but in the light of all this, i think i was able to grasp something last year from my experience that i want to share. from experience "td", i learn that rest is very important. read Mark 6:30-31 (i know arthur shared this with you TDSBWT, but bare with me) this happened after the apostles returned to Jesus after He sent them out. they returned with stories of how they casted out demons, healed sick people etc etc. they were on a high (like tc), but Jesus told them "get some rest". after being stressed, feeling nervous and what not, Jesus didn't tell them to go to this, go to that, do this, do that, He told them to rest. reading this passage after tc04 really helped me to avoid a long "td". and like many of you are probably thinking, i also thought "i couldn't serve in any other way" (which was worship team for me), but like one of the sayings on a card i saw at mitchells "write down your plans and give God the eraser", and that can't be more true. yeah, i miss worship team, i miss the practices, the arguement over sets, the last minute changes, just the overall experience, but when i think back to how blessed i was to be able to serve Him, it doesn't matter anymore if i have this opportunity again, because the first time was already a blessing. rather than asking God why He didn't give me an opportunity again, i thank God for giving me the first opportunity. i realize its not what i want that matters, God will place you somewhere He wants you to be, and He knows you like no one else, He even knows you better than you know you. i think the best "solution" to "td", is not to miss your experiences, but rather to thank God and praise God for giving you that opportunity, placing people in your lives that will leave a mark for the rest of your live, and ultimately serve Him in this ministry.

wow....i was everywhere, oh wellz, my thoughts are all over the place...=)

easter weekend

that drama put on by tjcac was amazing. truely, mel gibson, step aside! it brought many thoughts to my head as i see Him being crucified, mocked, yet still died for us even though He could've sent the army of angels to wipe us out. He didn't only die for the ones that love Him, He even die for those to mock Him and spit at Him. truely that is unconditional love from our Father in heaven. tmr is the day when we celebrate His resurrection, His rebuilding of the temple in 3 days. let us rejoice for our Lord and Saviour.

anyways, just to clarify...i don't have ANY of the vids, well, i have a couple, but they are the low quality ones. i still have yet to transfer the vids files as the file transfer kept screwing up during TC, so all the vids are still at AFC as i type. hopefully i can swing by afc one d ay to do it, but vids file are not in my hands. but recording, tdsb team, since dan is gonna make your recording, i'll be giving all the cds to him via someone from jaffray, and then he will make you guys your "official" recording with the nice cover and everything. as for non-tdsb team, the only decent recording was tuesday night, and thats NOT because of you guys. i'm going to start touching it up (just trying to remove the static n what not) and then hopefully by the party date (whenever that is), it'll be ready.

thats it for now. CONGRATS to everyone thats getting baptized tmr. Rex and Carrie being the two I know, so yay!!!

sick

man...didn't feel too good today. slept for like 15 hours in total today, threwup once n been getting chills almost the whole day. felt alot better after dinner, hoping i'll be ok tmr. still haven't uploaded any of the tc pics, will take me awhile cuz i got a bunch of 'em, also need to sort out the tc recordings, especially tdsb conference on tuesday, haven't finalize the disc yet, so basically its useless until i finalize it. tc media videos are still only on camcorder, i failed at transporting 'em onto the external cuz there wasn't enough time, so hoping to get that sorted soon.

will blog more another time, gonna hit the sack...

don't worry edith, it happens to most of us. the next few weekends (or more), you'll be sitting at home (during the time when you would've been at tcwt practice), and wondering why you are home, and trying to think back where all the time went the past few months. then you will start missing your team, wishing the last few months could've lasted a few years etc etc.

anyways, had the COP (concert of prayer) for the tdsb kids today, went pretty well...sorry kevin for making you type up lyrics for our spontanous worship songs. big thank you to derrick, mel, donald, jordan and fiona for coming out today. also a big thank you goes to season, donald, derrick, jeff, ernest, fiona, and josh for coming out last week. it was awesome being able to worship with you guys again.

this year's tc, being held at young nak, i duno, feels a bit weird there, maybe i guess i'm used to having it at rh3c, but yeah, they rented the nicest sound systems, it sounds amazing, more on that later. in the mean time, i'm gonna go sleep now, need to be there by 700 for sound check.

Hectic week

Wow...what a hectic week it was, but honestly, I enjoyed every second of it. It began on Sunday with preparing for the non-TDSB COP, up until Thursday with the last day of school. In the middle were 3 tests, and 3 16-hours away from home days. Lets not talk about school since its march break, but tc05 (and 04) has been on my mind since tuesday.

seeing everyone on tueday night at tc worshipping God wholeheartedly was amazing, brings back memories of last year. it was even more amazing seeing all the people that got saved and joined the family, praise God! the worship was amazing, and i felt God's Spirit truely alive in the sanutary that night. special note the wt, amazing job, you guys were awesome, praise God for bringing 8 strangers (well, kinda) together and molding you guys together into a team, praising Him in one body and one spirit. to be completely honest, seeing you guys brings back many memories of last year, the practices, the laughs, the jokes, and just the whole experience altogether.

a note for edith, there was never any worship vs media battles =) only two teams having some fun with each other...and then throw in rec, which makes a whole big joke! =รพ

Guess who's back

I dont know, something got to me, and I don't know what, got me back into thinking about blogging again...anyways, more to come.

So instead of moving to xanga, I created an account there, for nothing. After the previous post, never posted at xanga, and never really planned to, it was more like I quit blogging, but it wasn't really a habit back then anyway.

Now why did I start again today? I don't know, nothing really happened to trigger me to start again, I just...started again. Hopefully I can actually keep it going again.
