AutoShow was cool!

Wow, today was such a great day! I woke up so early in the morning, and was still kinda tired. I don't know why, but lately it seems that I've been having trouble sleeping. It feels like its my pillow, but I just wake up still tired even when I get like 10 hours of sleep.

So enough about my sleep, so I woke up, and my friend called, and we decided to leave for the auto show at 10:15. the subway ride was BOOOORING. Anyways, so when we got on the subway, me and my friend started looking for something to do, so we decided to find a Metro to read. We found one, and I started flipping through it, then I realized it was yesterday's paper! So we walked up the aisle to where we found the first paper, and just at that point someone picked up the other Metrot that was there! And that was TODAY'S Metro. So we ended up reading through yesterday's Metro. But it was fun though, because we found someone who wrote words into the crosswords that made no sense, and we found the horoscope writer can't write a sentence properly, it was like so grammactically incorrect. So reading and making fun of those things got us to Bloor/Yonge. So the ride from Bloor/Yonge to Union was pretty normal, nothing special because it was so short.

Now onto the Auto Show, this will be a long one, so get yourself a drink and a sandwich, you'll be here for awhile. So when we got there, there was this one little part before the skywalk, but after the coffee time where they decorated the place into like a formal hall entrance. With red carpet, soft music playing and stuff. I reached into my bag looking for my camera to put in my pocket, when I found a bag of OLD cotton candy at the bottom of one of the compartments in my bag. Now, I must tell you, it was totally gross when I took it out. It is like...4 months old! When we walked into the Convention centre, my friend and I decided to go to the South Building first, just because that was where the U Fair was. So we walked by this dude that was selling the AutoShow program, and immediately he reminded of those ppl that sells programs outside every Blue Jays game. "Program here! Get your game day program here for only 5 dollars." So anyways, I bought one, and I tried sucking my friend into paying half of it cause he didn't buy one but was sharing it, but it was unsuccessful...urgh...we continued to make our way down, and we saw this sign "Paul Tracy signing autograph"..and I was like "WHAT?! LET'S GO". I'm a big PT fan, I love his style of driving and he keeps his aggressiveness even when other drivers will be defensive to protect their lead, and he is not afraid to speak his mind, but thats another story. So as we were progressive towards the autograph signing, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, and National Post all handed us a newspaper. So when we got in line (we were 7th in line), me and my friend started going through the sports section, looking for a picture with PT in it. Yet none of them had it. So I looked into my AutoShow Program, and there was a page advertising for the Molson Indy, so I got PT to sign that, while at the same time the hostess was handing out a special section of the T-Star made for Autoshow with PT on it. Anyways, after we got our autographs, we stroll into the Classics Car Collection Area, where we saw all these old school cars, but that wasn't really exciting. For those who know cars, you will know the McLaren F1 is like one of the best cars in the world. So we started our quest to find it. So we wondered down the the Benz section, and guess what, there is this thingy that turns the car 360 degrees with the McLaren on it! After taking like 10 pictures, I decided to just go chill inside other cars, SL500, BMW 325, CLK 320, Escalade, etc etc. We wondered around a hall filled with Nissan, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzs, Mini-Coppers, Subarus, Escalades, Chervolets and VWs for like hours. And that was only 1/3 of the entire exhibition!

Now we went over to the North building, where all the Hondas, Acuras, Hyundais, even a few Ferrari and Lambos! More pictures, I even got to sit in one of the Ferrari! But since it was a special favour, I was only allowed to take a pic with me outside it. Oh wells. So when we were all done in the North building, it was 4!!!! And WE DIDN'T EAT LUNCH YET!!! We waited for the shuttle bus, so we can go back to the convention centre, go back through the skywalk to Union station so we can eat Harveys....yummmm...Big Harv......So while we were standing there, waiting for the shuttle bus, I came up with this stupid "slogan", so I'll tell you how it goes "This car show is like when girls go shopping. Except this time the cars are like girl's clothes, the guys are now the girls, and the commodity is 100-1000 times more expensive". So there was a couple of ppl waiting for the bus with us, and they cracked up too. Which was pretty hiliarious because I didn't know they were there.

So after "lunch", which was at like 4, we went to the last part of the show, inside the SkyDome. So we got in, and there was this sidewalk sale type thing all along the side, ppl selling Oakley look-alikes, etc etc. So we got down to the show floor, which was the least interesting one of them all simply because the cars there are more common ones, its where like the family cars are displayed, or the more expensive sedans, so it felt more like a showcase for ppl to buy cars rather than exotic and hot cars. So we got bored and went back to the South building, where we took more shots of the SLR, and then we started looking for cars where we rest our feet, we were tired after 7 hours of walking and standing. Eventually, we made our way out.

Hope I didn't bore you all too much with my adventures/events at the AutoShow =) I got some nice pictures though. So yeah, its all good.

Peace!
